Morning- The memory problem: Why students too often forget and what we can do about it. 

Outcome: Participants will evaluate and elevate existing unit plans for boosting long-term learning based on cognitive science and research into expertise. 


Afternoon- The engagement problem: Why students’ innate passion for learning slowly erodes, and what we can do about it. 

Outcome: Participants will evaluate and elevate existing unit plans and lesson plans to boost intrinsic motivation and student engagement in learning.

Morning- The ever-changing world problem: How to both meet curricular demands and prepare students for an unknown future. 

Outcome: Participants will evaluate and elevate existing unit plans and lesson plans to prepare students to become adaptable for our ever-changing world. 


Afternoon- The assessment problem: How to measure what we really value. 

Outcome: Participants will create an assessment plan that measures students’ abilities to transfer their learning to unfamiliar situations.
